We stopped in for lunch and ordered the special of the day- half- off burgers. I got mine with sharp cheddar, bacon, mushrooms, and onions, plus a side salad and the pumpkin crab and mushroom bisque. Everything was delicious, fresh, and flavorful.

The service was very friendly, though a little on the slow side (likely due to the busy lunch hour). We sat outside on the patio and really enjoyed the atmosphere.

A couple of small hiccups: we asked for a high chair and ended up having to find one ourselves, but the style they had was too tall for a regular table. Our toddler ended up staying in his stroller, which worked out fine. The bathroom does have a changing table, but it’s in a very tight stall above a toilet—similar to what you’d find in an airplane restroom.

Overall, the food was excellent, the staff welcoming, and we had a great time. We’re looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!

We stopped in on a Sunday evening while in town for an overnight trip at the end of May. We arrived around 7:30p and sat at the bar. There were several open seats at the bar but we noticed a lot of the tables were full and those that weren’t quickly became so. The bartender greeted us and provided menus (they light up so you can actually read them in dim lighting! - genius!) We ordered drinks and eventually the calamari. The calamari was good but it had a lot of peppers. The peppers were good too but I’d have rather had more calamari. Still very good. If we were hungry we would have tried a few other things. The bartender was friendly and attentive. She had a pleasant demeanor despite having worked a long shift as she said. Prices were comparable to other similar places. The atmosphere was upbeat and casual. Other people at the bar were friendly. We walked from the hotel but I think parking is metered on the street. It’s pretty close to the boardwalk and the town is very walkable.

For just a couple drinks and an appetizer this was a good stop on our trip.

$$-$$$. Recommended for a causal night out for drinks and those looking for American comfort food with a coastal flair. While price can be higher, The Summer House offers up quality over quantity in their dishes. A personal favorite during the off-season for it's daily specials (Ie half priced burger night mondays). For those who have visited before The Summer House is now apart of the Nalu group vs Big Fish.

Lighting is decently bright.

Noise level is higher and yelling may be required.

Service: While in my last visit it was slower, service is genuinely nice, helpful and quick.

If looking for a more intimate and reservation opportunity that features a variety of cocktails be sure to look up their Libation Room located in the back!

Pro tip, always check the daily specials! And make sure to try the onion rings!
